Steadily developing technologies allow corporations for the increasing use of communication and collaboration possibilities which simplify, accelerate and optimize operating processes to a considerable degree. The handling of such new technologies, however, needs to be learned in order to prevent excessive demands on the part of employees which could lead to impairment of both motivation and productivity.
Microsoft UC Summit
This year’s Microsoft UC Partner Summit 2012 on November 15th and 16th in Herzogenaurach provides partners and associates with the opportunity to attend interesting presentations on UC solutions. In addition, shortly before the product launch of the new Lync 2013, opportunities for discussion and new product presentations of various exhibition partners arise.
Zero in on people
In cooperation with other experts from the UC field, Detlev Artelt, CEO of the aixvox GmbH, will give a short keynote speech on “Cultural Change Management”. In this connection, rather than putting forward the technology, focus will be placed on the human being that has to operate with UC. New and distinct methods of working require a smart integration into the staff’s daily working routine. It is, thus, of particular importance to familiarize actual persons with new technological environments, according to their state of knowledge, responsibility or position in the firm. We needto define novel concepts and exemplariliy illustrate innovative ideas. Many employees tend to be overstrained by too much technology due to a long lasting operation of conversant tools such as phone, fax and e-mail. Different means of communication and features like presence management or desktop sharing can cause a rather disinclined attitude. Hence, it is necessary to take away the fear of change and movement and encourage the acceptance of simplifying desktops and work methods.
Detlev Artelt will be supported by consultant and coach Marc-Aurel Reif (Mensch Kommunikation Technologie) and Sabine Erlebach (datac Kommunikationssystem GmbH) as well as Markus P. Keller (UC Point AG) who, as system integrators, have successfully implemented UC projects and new communication platforms with Microsoft products already. The aim of the discussion is to give Microsoft’s UC partners an understanding of this equally important, human aspect when introducing new technologies.
